Yesterday was the first day of MLB season, today is the first game for the Boston Red Sox! This was written half way through the season of 2004. Go Boston for 2011!
Boston’s Curse
2004, is this our year? This is the fans biggest fear.
We all watch in awe with excitement and thrill.
And pray that this is the year the curse will be killed.
This year our pitchers are not a joke.
We have Arroyo, Dinardo, Embree and Foulke.
With fingers crossed baseball is thrilling.
We watch Lowe, Malaska, Martinez and Schilling.
With our foes at the plate seems like a sin.
Against Seibel, Wakefield, Williamson, Timlin and Kim.
Their aim is to pitch strikes over the plate.
And so far this season there is no debate.
With catchers like Mirabelli and Varitek.
The best in the league this you can bet.
And infielders like Belhorn, Crespo, Daubach and Millar.
Mueller and Reese they are but all stars.
Outfielders like Kapler, McCarty, Ramirez and Damon.
To end the curse of the Babe this goal they’re all aiming.
And David Ortiz as a designated hitter.
This is the team and not one of them quitters.
Let’s not forget the two that are missing.
Garciaparra and Trot Nixon!
When they get back they will join in the search.
For this is the year we will put down the curse.
So all of the dedicated fans put down your fears.
And cheer for the Red Sox’s, this is our year!
