NIGHT WALKING
Get up and go to the loo,
Finding my way easy to do…
There’s just enough light
To see at night,
Get up and see it’s true.
On the way back, however,
Come into the dark hell-for-leather
And risk a toe stubbed
And shins over-rubbed,
All for your not having it together.
For me when I go back to bed
I’ve learned to use my head…
Feeling, not by sight,
Landmarks in the night
Ensures that no part of me’s bled.
