NOT ENOUGH POETS?
I suppose it isn’t “fair”
To let my opinions air…
When THE TELEGRAM & GAZETTE**
Takes time to target,
The crappy state of education here.
-
It wasn’t the paper’s op-ed
Officially I read…
Just an “AS I SEE IT” piece,
In a May 2nd (2012) release
Exposing Liberal Arts may soon be dead.
-
Municipal pots are running low,
So instead of wages—subjects have to go—
History/Literature…no MCAS…
If there were, it scores dead last,
Political indoctrination will only grow.
-
But this is MY opinion based on facts
Of other countries moving on similar tracks…
Who needs poetry
With Facebook and Wii,
Until the time “We the People ” must bare our backs!

I did respond to Mr. Jamie Gass’s opinion piece, inviting him to visit us here at OUR POETRY CORNER, emphasizing that our Administrator an I, and others, do indeed hail from Massachusetts and are poets. Sure hope he does!

you deserve 10 stars on this! you are correct 100% I am a very strong believer in education and right now our school systems across this great country of ours are not fitting the bill. Another reason why I went in the direction of Opinion’Nation starting Monday. I intent to cover many subjects!
