FAIRY DUST

FAIRY DUST

Light yellow fairy dust drifts

Downward as near-summer grips…

      Temperatures higher

      While songbirds like lyres,

Illuminate musical riffs.

-

This fairy dust washes away,

Or nearly so, on rainy days…

      It swirls in gutters

      And clings to home shutters,

Wherever it “wants” to stay.

-

This “fairy dust”  won’t last for long,

Till another kind comes not as strong…

      Each lasts just a while,

      Some find it a trial

To keep the stuff out of the lung.

    • Yeah. Pine Tree Pollen…but doesn’t it remind you of Dick Van Dyke as Bert the Chimney Sweep in Disney’s MARY POPPINS, singing…”Up where the smoke is all billered and curled…”?

      • lol yes it does
