THE JOY OF A MAN
He relishes in the attention received
From his new female friends…
Excited by common interest
Sharing poetic trends.
The ones to whom he’d spoken
Reacted with open delight,
The realness of their reaction
Made his morning, noon and night.
These redheads had he looked upon
With interest from afar,
Finding common interests shared
Has raised his below par.
To find someone who wants to see
His high school reddish beard
When he had hair, good looking too,
Replaces what he feared.
He finds his mood uplifted
By encouragement so sweet…
To think that he had been too shy
To open up or “tweet.”
And now he looks forward to
Sharing poetry plot bends…
Anticipating that will out
Some healthy, happy trends.
