A BIRDIE COUPLE
A birdie couple looks for food,
Some fricasseed worms gently stewed,
The crumbs I can’t drop
Won’t fill up the crop
Of a bird with hopeful attitude.
Some sparrows nest inside our wall
Of cinder block shapes twelve feet tall,
The little birds love
Those holes up above…
Avoid where their droppings will fall!
