HEART HEALING

He went by her house today…
Or rather he tried to stray,
Instead he went ’round
The far side of town,
Dealing with an emotional array.
At heart was still caught
Unrequited so fraught
Without one prayer
It could ever be “there”
Experience had this taught.
Last time his heart had to heal
It took nearly four years for real,
And his “ex” had him hurt
So bad and so curt
That at last he let go of zeal.
So the man goes ’round and ’round
Listening to the sound
Of his own voice
Fighting the choice
To deliberately fall down.
At last the driver has been
Convinced for the moment of sin…
He has one who
Wants him for true,
Waiting home to let him in.
