Remembering my third shift,
Overnight when the mind tends to drift…
While walking around
Hearing building sounds,
Recording my notes so they’re “cliffed.”**
To overnight sit in one place
Invites one to drift into space…
Regular walking tours
Helps one to endure
And keep a bright look on your face.
But ah, the joy driving back
Home, when dawn has cracked…
Seeing details come to light
After a long job done right,
Finally on a bed-bound track!
