OHIO

The state’s name is derived from an Iroquois word
meaning river is either beautiful or great.
The Motto is~~ With God, all things are possible.
And the nickname is~~ The Buckeye State.

The residents are called Ohioans
The cardinal is the official bird.
The state flower is the red carnation
And the Buckeye tree they preferred.

The lady bug is the official insect
The state animal is the white-tailed deer.
The flint is the official gem
The black snake is the reptile that evokes fear.

No other bridge in the world is quite like
The Zanesville bridge called Y
When you think that you’ve crossed over
You end up on the same darn side!

Ohiois the leader in the production
Of Green houses and nurseries.
And the pop-top can is invented

Ohio has two halls of fames in
Cleveland is the rock and roll
And pro football is in Canton
The game that needs self control.

Cleveland is the world’s first city
To be lighted electrically
And Jesse Owens won four Olympic gold
Metals being superior physically.

John Glenn the first American
To twice go into space.
On January 20, 1962 and then
At the age of 77 in 1998!

And Neil Armstrong from Wapakoneta the
First man to step foot on the moon we find.

Nickname for State: The Buckeye State. The nickname refers to the many buckeye trees that grew within the state’s borders when settlers arrived.
The first Ambulance service was established in Cincinnati in 1865.
Ohio claims the first chewing gun in 1869 and the first hot dog in 1900.
Cleveland became the world’s first city to be lighted electrically in 1879
Jesse Owens from Cleveland won four Olympic metals in 1936.
The Glacial Grooves on the north side of Kelley’sIsland are the largest easily accessible such grooves in the world. They were scoured into solid limestone bedrock about 18,000 years ago by the great ice sheet that covered part ofNorth America.

  1. Thanks for the points you have contributed here. Something else I would like to say is that pc memory requirements generally increase along with other advances in the know-how. For instance, whenever new generations of cpus are introduced to the market, there is certainly usually an equivalent increase in the scale preferences of both personal computer memory in addition to hard drive room. This is because the software operated simply by these processors will inevitably rise in power to make new technologies.

  3. As I recall, Buckeye is a more common term than Ohioan for the residents. At least it was through my childhood.
