WHY CAN’T I…BECAUSE!

WHY CAN’T  I…BECAUSE!

Why can’t I in poetic lines

Describe a woman’s breasts…

Because such would be a stumbling block

As personal experience attests!

Why not wax glorious phrasing

About a lady’s charms…

Because I may forget my vows

And enter into her arms.

Why not go wild for mysteries

That are couched in a “platonic” way….

Because I know about myself

And with whom I want to stay.

It is easy for covenant-less poets

To envision with tongues hanging out…

They have no love that lasts, for their own

To express and share….no doubt.
