THINKING ABOUT MOTHER’S DAY
by Jonathan Caswell
–
I’ve started to think about Mother
And what Mom would likely say…
If we took the time
To keep her in mind
On the up-coming Mother’s Day.
–
The greatest gift she gave her youngest
Was to keep her “blue” baby alive…
In later years perhaps overdid it,
But that remained a major drive.
–
She strong-armed the eldest to ensure
The youngest wouldn’t lose and cry….
The fear was falling unconscious,
Having heart spasms and then die.
–
The cost of her efforts, tremendous,
She really did succeed…
Her youngest is living and carrying on,
While writing his poetry.
