AN “EMMAUS” MOMENT

AN “EMMAUS” MOMENT

Written by Jonathan Caswell…

In the twenty-fourth chapter of Luke,

Resurrected Jesus gave rebuke…

      For lack of belief

      Among his crew “deef”,

Who wouldn’t believe in the Truth.

Two met on the way to Emmaus

The Risen Christ sent to save us….

      He opened their minds

      Drawing back blinds

On the way to little Emmaus.

The Old Testament mentions Him

In Torah and Prophets and Hymns*…

      He opened their eyes

      To see with surprise

The Scriptures that He was within.

For instance, suffering Job

Put on righteousness as a robe…

      In Job 29: 14’s line

      He’d put on Christ fine,

If  he knew that Christ was foretold.

In Luke 15:22,

The son’s father knew what to do…

      Get him the best robe

      Covering stinking clothes,

What “puting on Christ” does for you!

*THAT IS…The Psalms, Proverbs and Wisdom Books!
