The apartment complex where we live

Has elderly ready to give….

Attention to things

That for them food brings,

Something  at which they are active.

We will not have meetings at night,

Prior to seven sounds right…

Any later, dear Fred,

And most go to bed

And won’t come out ’til morning light.

A few regular night owls

Awaken to coyote howls…

From a nearby window

Comes a wave in the glow

Of a TV as a “late-nighter”  prowls.

“I think I’m ready for bed,”

This wanderer at three AM said…

These deserted halls

Absent of footfalls,

Are less fun than dreaming, instead!
