NO INTERRUPTIONS

NO INTERRUPTIONS

by Jonathan Caswell

I came back to see outside

A woman who used to clean here…

Talking with her friends on a visit,

And  me loathe to interfere.

We had become friends…

As much as two marrieds could be,

But compared to the women she used to work with

I was just an acquaintance, you see.

Danuta’s former boss came in after “Diane” left,

With a warm grateful look in her eye…

As if to say she knew I cared

And was an understanding guy.
