A friend saw white petunias

They reminded her of snow…

As an early August heat wave

We’re not ready yet, you know.

To bend our backs in shoveling

Piles of white stuff off cars…

Or watch our heating oil price rise

Explained by energy czars.

White petunias with scallions

Sound like a bunny’s treat….

I’m not ready yet for winter,

Let’s enjoy a while longer this heat.
