PARABLE OF THE SOWER IN MY WORDS

PARABLE OF THE SOWER IN MY WORDS,

By Jonathan Caswell

You believe—you’re saved,

And persecution you’ve braved…

For salvation sure

You must endure,

Your soul has been autoclaved.

Christ says your faith is a seed,

The parable of the sower, indeed…

A seed has to grow

And overthrow

The world and its deceptive creed.

Are you the one in thin soils,

Whose love quickly over-boils…

At first running hot,

Then die on the spot

Not caring for heavenly spoils.

The faith among the weeds,

Is choked by worldly deeds…

Diverted away

By care that stays,

Denying God’s spirit who leads.

Did you get saved near the road,

And blessing there on you bestowed…

Was quickly denied

By your friends’ deride,

Of everything you were told?

As for that rich, deep soil,

Spiritual fruit grows that never can spoil…

Endure to the end

And do not pretend

That you are blessed only by toil.
