RUNNING THE BLOCKADE

(from Google Images)

RUNNING THE BLOCKADE

There is one entrance in-and-out

For every work employee…

With a sloping walkway out from the door

So fancily canopied.

A number of men once hung out there,

During lunchtime on both sides….

They’d talk and breathe that noontime air

Watching the  traffic that glides.

The Company broke up that crowd

For folks who used the side rails…

And some women felt threatened by

The blockade through which they sailed.

Younger ones especially felt

The feeling of being watched….

And having to run a male gauntlet

Every noontime had to be scotched!

So the gawkers, innocent or not,

Had their male prerogative goosed…

Men gather elsewhere to lounge and chat

With less concentrated eyeball use!
