NEGLECTED BURNER

The windows are open to clear,

The apartment of smoke, my dear…

The burner on high

I left, but why?,

Overdid the hamburger sear!

I gave you the least-charred patty,

With cheese and mayo tangy…

I will have to learn

To not leave things to burn,

Avoiding major fire alarms clangy.

The smoke is nearly cleared out,

Good sandwiches they make, no doubt…

My wife would prefer

I try to stir,

Or at least reduce heat when going out.
