SUNDAY AFTERNOON TEA

(SHUTTER STOCK IMAGE)

SUNDAY AFTERNOON TEA

A Sunday afternoon tea,

With cheese omelet, toast and coffee…

‘Til the coffee’s all gone

Then we’ll get along,

Boiling water per need.

Like the English, tea time is a meal,

But lighter with less fat congealed…

For diabetics, cakes,

Are “bad” for our sakes

But used to hold for us appeal.

The cat gets in on the game,

He has his own mug to claim…

Which keeps him from ours

Tasting like cat sours,

He’ll push his off the table all the same!
