The most important things
The measure of success
Is not what money brings.
In life it’s what we are
And not material things.
Money a necessity
In order that we live.
The most important thing
Is our love to God we give.
Sharing with our families
Make sure they know we care.
It’s God’s Will we teach them
To grow and learn to share.
How we treat all others
And never looking down.
Treat strangers as a brother
With a smile not a frown.
Set a good example
To family and our peers.
Don’t be what we are not
Keep moral values near.
Everyone has their faults
As us human’s often do.
One by one face head on
Resolve and we won’t lose.
You might surprise yourself
The inner strength you hold.
To overcome the trials
No longer uncontrolled.
You ought to give sonnet form a try. You have the end rhyme internalized and meter. I’d like to see what you do with different metric feet and stresses.

I will take up your suggestion, I had a few written a long while back along with attempting many other types of poetry, unfortunately my old pc crashed and I had failed to save them lost probably over 200 works

I’ve got stack of big and small floppies loaded with material I fear losing. What I despise most is thinking those are my best works and I could never recreate them or do better. Doubt fuels inertia. We push together.

Good process. I find myself repeating to my students that their best document storage device is their email. I look forward to your work ahead.
