My Shadowed Glass~by rldubour

My Shadowed Glass

To be or not to be, quoted so long ago.
To be or not to be no matter which road you go.
For life is full of meaning as her ambers brightly glow.
And time is without essence as she travels on so slow.
As I look at life through shadowed glass.
I collect my thoughts and then I ask.
Why are those who kill, cheat and steal?
What possible honor could they fill?
This generation is quit a mess their out for different kicks.
Oh shadowed glass I ask of you, are they silent hypocrites?
As I look at life through shadowed glass again I further see.
For no plane is safe in the sky it’s full of piracy.
Fly me to an enchanted land shout the man with gun in hand.
Oh shadowed glass, can’t he see.
He is fleeing from where he was free.
Another question may I ask? Our colleges, it’s just not right.
That is unless you like the riot life.
What is youth becoming of have they lost their self-respect.
Our younger generation they seem to be complex.
Are these demonstrations and love ins just a passing myth?
And as they realize what life is, will they grow out of this?

Oh shadowed glass, my shadowed glass.
Another question has come to pass.
The war in Viet Nam is this where we should be?
Answer this my shadowed glass, answer this for me.
Viet Nam we have to be for someone has to fight.
And sense our Nation stands for the free we have all the right.
Some time ago we signed a pledge on this we can’t renege.
For if we do our Nations falls, like a table with just one leg.
Our Nation stands for freedom that we shall always keep.
Our Nation stands for justice so Viet Nam we seek.
Oh shadowed glass oh shadowed glass.
Another question I wish to ask.

Man was created equally this is understood.
So why can’t they get along like the way they really should?
Life is made of colors be it black or red or white.
For no matter what your color you are a human life.
Just walk the road of life with pride and hold your head up high.
For when man realizes equality we’ll be walking side by side.
Yes, as I look at life through shadowed glass.
I collect my thoughts and then I ask.
Oh, shadowed glass you taught me right.
And knowing this, I’ll sleep tonight.
For life is full of meaning as her ambers brightly glow.
And time is without essence as she travels on so slow.

It’s been awhile oh shadowed glass.
I still have questions, may I ask?
I look at you my shadowed glass, of you this question I must ask.
This senseless tragedy has come to pass.
The death full shadow overhead crashed and burned and left the dead.
Why? Help me understand, why? How ruthless is this mortal man?
The men and woman that will never come home.
The ones who loved them are left alone.
I pray the angels guide them right.
And protect their souls from their earthly plight.
Now it’s time to stand all-tall.
And show this devil who has the ball!
We the United States are saddened by this day.
But make no mistake about it the devil will surely pay.
This darkened hour we will endure.
And make us stronger this I am sure.
To all those brave souls who gave their best.
That make a difference in this life’s test.
To our Nations leaders in this time of need.
That runs our country where we live free.
That whatever action they must take.
We are all behind them make no mistake!

Oh shadowed glass oh shadowed glass.
That darkened hour has come to pass.
The price of freedom we now must pay.
And sent those devils to their grave.
America we love you.
The good old red, white and blue.
We are one Nation under God and if we fall we won’t give up yet.
We will rise and be stronger than ever and take another step.
God Bless America, God Bless us All.
God Bless our homeland where we will forever all stand tall.

Life is full of meaning as her ambers brightly glow
And time is without essence as she travels on so slow.
Oh shadowed glass, my shadowed glass.
Just one last question I wish to ask.
This war across the sea in the country called Iraq, is this where we should be?
Answer this my shadowed glass, answer this for me.
America the beautiful the land of brave and free.
We were there before in other lands to help ends worlds tyranny.
With England and Australia both by our side.
We will give Iraqis freedom so they can live their life with pride.
To chase away their fears and give them hope for better days.
To chase away Saddam Hussein for crimes he has to pay.
To rid our world of evil that surrounds us everywhere.
This is but our foundation that’s why we are over there.
Oh shadowed glass oh shadowed glass.
A million questions I wish to ask.
Yes, life is full of meaning as her ambers brightly glow.
And time is without essence as she travels on so slow.
The end result is peace on earth a goal that we should choose.
A never-ending battle of this vision we can’t afford to lose.
Yes, life and time they will always blend.
So, Dear God this message I ask You send.
To rid our world of crime and violence before mankind does end.

  1. The picture of that shadow behind looking like a man looks like one of Pink Floyd’s album covers. It’s almost eerie on how much they look alike.
