suppose I could walk
where the hell would I go
I’ve forgotten
the places I’ve been
my old
footprints
have melted dissolved
been erased by the speed
of the spinning
of time
so why daydream
of things
that can’t be
what’s the point
imagining
bones that still work
that perambulate
journey down trails
of the mind
leaving notional
footprints
of motionless movements
forensic impressions
equivalent to visions
that only the coroner’s
lamp will reveal
