Days like a tree~ by Mark Muthiora

Days like a tree

There are days I feel like a tree
Immobile and stagnant as life rushes by
Rainy season and summer heat
Years come years gone
Slowly I decay, in petrification I lie
Yet I hold on, for my roots are deep
And my reach is wide.

I have heard many a stories, been a witness to many a passion
As birds nestle on my branches, and boys slither my trunk
Lovers lie under my shade and the pious call to the Creator
Yeah, there are days when it’s worth being a tree.
