HONEY BEE~by Indira Sadanandan

The honey bee flies long distance every day
To collect nectar from flowers to fill its comb
It loves to collect honey from every flower it finds
And carries honey bagful of its legs ,for the queen
And the idlers in the beehive
The idlers do nothing but creating off springs
With the union of the queen
The maids leave the comb every morning to collect
Honey and store it in the little compartments to
Feed the idlers and the little ones to grow fast
When they come out of the cocoon

To a honey bee, work is a pleasure to find happiness
In collecting honey and feed every one in the beehive
I am joining the honey bees to fly high in the sky
To collect honey from flowers of the topmost trees
To fill my beehive and make sweet honeycombs
Of my poetry

  1. beautiful poem Indira. very beautiful.
