Mother Father~by Lilian Dipasupil Kunimasa

Mother Father

words that used to give me fear
what more shame what more pain what more shall they destroy that I hold dear
yet when I become a mother
I swear that I will be better
Respect trust and truth along with hugs I gave my own daughter
somehow that lessened my anger
and opened my heart to forgive if not forget all together
moving on I felt my burden become lighter
Dad’s dead but Mom’s still with her dreadful character
but I noticed it made my capacity to love stronger

I guess we can’t all have loving parents but we can choose to be loving children
hard but possible:-)
