Retreat~by Samita Chattopadhyay

Retreat

You are my haven –

I come to you

Time n’ again –

Forlorn,

Unattended,

Loner

In a hostile society…

Who knows that
I’m bleeding inside?

Like a Homeric character

I get involved in volorous fight…

Every time I come back…

Desolate

Solitary

Full of remorse…

I come back to you —

My hermitage…

You are my refuge…

You never leave me alone…

Still I suffer…

Lacuna fills me with pain…

I am tired of their qualms…

I close my eyes to feel you…

And there you are —

My sanctum…
