Shadows
We live in a world of shadows
Shadows everywhere-our minds, our rooms, our prayers
Manifest as doubts when about to take a leap of faith
In their terror they freeze us, and we become them.
If only we could imagine but a world
Where light guides our every thought, our every action
If only we could but fathom
The power that is a single candle burning
Slowing thawing out the fears- the shadows- in us.
These shadows have their uses
As the signs and symptoms that point out a malady
Telling us that we are turning into a state of unbeing
Mindless drones and robotic creatures
Hanging on to survival in the name of civilisation.
