to old souls~by Lilian Dipasupil Kunimasa

to old souls

You have been to hell and came back
Courage and honor you don’t lack
Tried to survive by skills and luck
As you keep watch of buddy’s back

To land of Ares you’ve been thrown
The toys of Hephaestus drawn
If only Athena has shown
The path to bring everyone home

How anguished Rhea must have cried
Zeus with his arrogant pride
Hades with his resentful snide
Demeter dying at her side

Dionysus pains can not fend
Prayers is all that I can send
Loving families wars did rend
What can anyone do to mend?

BBQ’s I wish not to rain
Memories of love on graves lain
Sparta has been conquered and slain
But warriors did not die in vain

*To all veterans and families of remembered and forgotten warriors.
