WHEN I LEAVE THIS WORLD (1)
When I leave this world
Shall I look back?
Shall I look back
To see
How things were
Of various size,
Shape, pattern,
Touch and
Color?
How people were
Of different races,
Skin, weight, beliefs
Levels of need …
Levels of power?
Shall I look back
To listen again
To music
Of lovely tunes …
Lively hue,
To songs that
Ever spoke of love,
Of better tomorrows
So many dreams
That always refused
To come true?
Shall I look back
To behold
My image,
Big and beautiful,
In my Mother’s eye
As I still remember
The sacrifices
She went through
Before she wished
To rest and die?
Shall I look back
To hear my name
Uttered by thousands
With many pitches …
With many tones
However, I have come
To realize
It was just a name
No glory
Nor fame?
