We Fought they Forgot – Ode to Veterans
Fashioned from the cruelest mind,
I am hideous to the common man,
But tangled works play my mind,
And I thrive on ripened sin.
Wicked thoughts mangle time,
Giving me impressions of hate,
But I am ravished to the core,
And of that there is no debate.
Crawling through dirtied gutters,
Sleeping in darkened alleys.
Like a homeless unwanted veteran,
Hung from the government galley’s.
I am beaten down, left for dead.
Considered insane in my ways,
But really I am just a man,
Paying for my warrior days.
