you ask why?~by Lilian Dipasupil Kunimasa

you ask why?

The first welcoming face you see
even before you suck first air
The sweetest voice you hear with glee
even before you were born bare
The nourishing breast that fed thee
even before your hunger scare

Yet, society moved your life and changed you

The sweet face is now filled with fear
even before you come scorn on
The sweet voice screaming and moaning
even before second blow thrown
The breast now filled with scars and burns

And you ask why
women refuse to be
mothers of your seeds?
