The Rainbow~by Rikki Bertrand

The Rainbow

Loved, then lost, my heart is sad,
I think a piece has broken off,
Tears well, yet face is dry,
My emotions I cannot scoff.

My world has turned from color,
It is becoming black and white.
My life bleeds out of me,
My eyes turning dark as night.

All of me that was painted true,
Has been smeared into a blur.
I need a change in mind and mood,
Or something worse will occur.

Deep down inside of me,
I have rainbow full of color,
I must be strong in all regard,
And like a butterfly let it flutter.

We all have that tiny rainbow,
The shines bright with vibrant color,
It will come out after the weathered storm,
Like a handsome gentleman caller.
