DESULTORY THOUGHT~by Samita Chattopadhyay

DESULTORY THOUGHT

My eyes are soaring…
My arms flapping …
My embrace is wheedling…

You are reclining there
On the chair
Under the shaggy tree
I want to park myself
Beside thee
Get well soon baby…

Me, a penniless,
Walloping myself here
Lying in wait for a chance…………
I am in quandary…………….
Don’t have a ticket in hand!
I pledge
Just for a pass
And some penny,
Believe me…

I can ambuscade
And snatch a smidgen
Or
Morsel
Of luck………….
I play with fate;
Gamble
Wager;

But when they say,
“Bow down,
If you want the crown”

I say, “No”………….
And I walk out,
Rather gallop
Like the dun horse………..

I take my frayed hat,
And come back to my
Muted
Stifled
Hushed
Dim warren …………..

You are there,
Far away
Forlorn
Want to give you something
Wagnerian

Hey blue sky!
Why are you looking daggers at me?
I know you are stark void
Still I look up to you…
Please
Let the wind blow
And river flow
And see his face glow
Please!!!!
Though
I know you are nothing
But furtive emptiness!
