‘When we leave our humanity behind’

When we leave souls
And humanity behind,
With killing hearts,
No love to remind

No conscience that listens
Hearts are empty
As we fill the void
With hate, there’s plenty

When all is done,
Time to move on
So we forget
Our humanity gone

We look, we know
And turn away
We’ll think about that
Another day

Our world is one
Not half but whole
Consider then
We’ve lost our soul

The sounds we hear
As posterity waits
Is the clamour of humanity
At heaven’s gates
