who has courage enough
for the truth
that no matter
how finely we sing
our song is irrelevant
surely not me
too old and afraid to be brave
too desperate for worth
too easily drawn to despair
but then maybe
irrelevance
holds no intrinsical truth
no fait accompli
but is merely
a thoughtful man’s
deepmost held fear
