no barren land~by Lilian Dipasupil Kunimasa

no barren land

No man should ever be an island.
No man is really a barren land.

Each man is a grain part of the sand.
Each man a waterdrop in a pond.

Every man needs to hold a friend’s hand.
Every man a companion to bond.

A warm hug that shows someone does care.
Another one’s heart with whom to share.

Adventures to seek with one he dares.
Accepting no matter how he fares.

A friend who greets you good morning dear.
Doesn’t stay long on chat to be queer.

A friend that can be crazy or plain.
No matter what as long as not vain.

No man can ever be an island.
Even if he lives in barren land.

  1. I like your shaking up the rhyme, from time-to-time….even if the rhyming of “sand…pond” and “hand…bond” is due to pronunciation differences (a good thing!). 😀 Good job!
