‘Sweet Summer Days’~by Mary Cecil

‘Sweet Summer Days’

Sing high the dawn,
Where I can live free
With Nature’s benevolence,
In all that I see

Sweet summer days,
With dreams to pursue
The grasses grown high,
Are waiting for you

Wild flowers entwining,
Sway gently above
A bower for my sweetheart,
A gift for my love

The larks are ascending,
Through blue summer haze
Perfection and beauty,
A feast for my gaze

And if I still linger,
For love’s fleeting glance
A sweet reminiscence,
Of summer’s romance
