O MY LITTLE ANGEL, SOURCE OF MY MIRTH!~by Dipankar Sadhukhan

O MY LITTLE ANGEL, SOURCE OF MY MIRTH!

O my little angel, source of my mirth!
Thou don’t know how close thou art to my heart.
How can thou make out how much I love thee
As thou art too tiny to perceive me.

‘Tis not too much if I call Time a Giant
As he’ll devour every beauty on earth.
Lika a burglar or professional thief
He’ll try to make our possession so brief.

One day when thou shall grow and be mature
And thou will turn o’er the leaves of my verse,
Thou shall understand how much I love thee
As I’ve stored thy childhood in my poetry.

Then I’ll conceive- my verses aren’t valueless
And my heart must be filled with happiness.
