‘Waiting’~by Mary Cecil

‘Waiting’

Patience is a virtue they say,
And all good things are worth waiting for
To wait upon a moment,
That perfect something

Should I be rewarded or not
For grasping at life and dreams,
To wilfully throw all considerations
And abandon all to chance

To build and weave a hope
And fly with wings on fire,
To seize a trade wind blowing
And coast through billowing clouds

Or wait and wait forever,
The perfection that never comes,
For dreams to fade and die
The hopes that will not fly
