Kiss goodbye~by Mark Muthiora

Kiss goodbye

This is where we kiss goodbye
Watching the sun dip into the horizon
A fiery ball at noon, now coy and soft
A reflection of what our love has become.

Our souls have divided, each seeks it way
Happiness has been elusive, quarrels unending
Perhaps we weren’t meant to be
It’s best to part ways as friends.

I know you will miss me as I miss you
Your sweet kisses caressing my lips
Your fragrance that is a thousand roses
Love whispered in the dead of night.

Our fingers slip from the other’s grip
Our lips unlock in sweet surrender
I run my hand through your silky hair
Filing away memories of a love once shared.
