Life is looking back at me~by David Mellor

Life is looking back at me

Life is looking back at me
Weeping so silently
Under the window in which I let all of you in
To knock down the walls, where do I begin….

With you mother ?
Always wanting to please
With you father?
And your terrible rage

Life is looking back at me
Weeping so heavily

You planted seeds didn’t you
Those that rot and don’t form
Expected me to grow up perfectly
Our limbs intact a perfect specimen
Not a physical wreck

We don’t look back in anger
Just cling on to dear life
A life that stated so painfully
when you cut the cord with a knife.
