Poetry~by Brandan Peterson

Playing in the
Remains of desperation
The night’s temperature
Rapidly dropped a blanket
Of skin rippling coldness
Upon our exposed
Un-sheltered bodies
Music drifting in from
The darkness of the
Neighbor hood brought
Forth soothing music and
A feeling to wrestle
With the loneliness
You used to provide
Protection from
Painful and required
Introspection now
Memories from the past
Are sweeping me
Off of my feet holding
Me stockaded in public
Until I am able to answer
The questions being asked
Of me ” Just who am I and
who exactly were you to me “.
