I’M AGAIN ON THE BANK OF THE RIVER~by Dipankar Sadhukhan

I’M AGAIN ON THE BANK OF THE RIVER
I’m again on the bank of the river.
Twelve years ago for last time I came here.
How quickly time passes; how fast man grows
But Nature is untouched with Time’s sharp edge.

That river is flowing in the same way.
Vale is echoed by Cuckoo’s melody.
Trees are covered with colourful flowers.
Sun is setting in the river water.

Once we would share our joy with Nature.
Now I’m lone on the bank of the river.
She is surprised seeing me here lonely
And says to me, ” Dear friend! now where is she?”

I remained silent; tears rolled down from eyes.
Then I said, ” She’s within my heart always.”
