‘Sweet Melancholy Moments’~by Mary Cecil

‘Sweet Melancholy Moments’

Sweet melancholy moments,
That warm my heart
Now when cold winds blow,
And we slowly drift apart

I hear a song somewhere,
Music as we dance
Laughter in the air,
Remembering sweet romance

Where are those days,
I dreamed would last forever
Life’s receding moments,
When we could be together

I feel the warmth of you,
your smiles that smiled for me
Those longing days that pass,
My yearning still to see

On a long and lonely road,
Where once again you wait
My footsteps carry me,
To an open gate

If I could step on through,
And in your arms entwine
To hear you whisper softly,
That once again your mine
