“A Long Time”~by Leon A. Walker

“A Long Time”

Initial impressions are often the face of simple facades.
For many reasons,
we present various aspects.
Sometimes based on immediate wants;
or even flash reactions to negative stimuli…
Though friends and lovers may proclaim their loyalties;
any of our wants may cloud the day.
Swirling mysteries of life-
for which there may be no rational responses.
It takes a very long time;
to truly know someone.
And then;
even knowing of our imperfections,
we may one day call ourselves-
friends.
