BEYOND THE LANES
wind that comes from afar
along with scent of the mountains
and the deserts sprawling in-between
also carries in its entrails
the breaths of my sweet heart;
stars which saw me sighing
in the loneliness of dark nights
twinkled with visions beyond the horizons
and saw another side of me
writing in acute pain;
i pick up some water from a flowing river;
and bring it close to my lips
once i hod this water before my eyes
and i close my ears;
the river stops and in that draught of water
i hear the sighs of a maiden;
so kind of you, my friends,
you carry her scents sweet across
the continents;
i have a feeling how unreal are the
lines which we humans have drawn;
and how real is love
which overflows every dividing line;
elements have always declared
beyond doubt;
you and me are melting together
into these winds;
distances are meant for the eye
not for the mind
what really matters is this earth
and this outstretching sky;
