His Majesty~by Steven Forrest

His Majesty

The cripple footed walk belied his majesty
His hunchbacked stance hid his height
In armoured shell, sword held high in hand
He imposed himself upon the throng
Orated his demands imploring those gathered
Frightened men and boys grew strength
Stronger for his rallying cry for freedom
They fought as one possessed of one
Kingdom and country, home and heart
Some died yet all won as one the day
In the winning they carried him to throne
Peasant knights made him king.
