Ok I’m fine tuning my poem, what cha think?
I’m Comin Home
O Christmastime
be around the corna,
I’m excited
through to ma bones.
Soon
I’ll hear the whistle blowin
as the train arrives
in Sydney, Nova Scotia
Ummm ummm
smelling me some fish
an ocean delight,
macheral, smelts
cook um up tonight,
Hey Tex,
where’s the telephone, man,
you better call Ma Green.
You know she’s waitin
Ma Green, I’m coming
home, gimme that Okra,
and sweet potato pie.
Some yellow corn bread
with cocoo on the side.
Throw down some
pickled pigs feet,
black pudding too.
Time for a feast, the way
dem ole colored people
use to do. Don’t forget
coconut sugar cakes and pone,
and moby bitters sweetened
up real nice. I’m telling ya
we gon have a feast tonight.
