We kindled the flames of yesterday

We kindled the flames of yesterday
Sat peering through it
There we saw those still- born
promises we made then
There we saw those smiles
shattering hearts we rained for hope
There we saw hardworking muscles
Building the bridge for today
We sat wondering just looking
Through the flames
We asked” What the hell didn’t we do”
The flames smiled back and whispered” Sons, life
goes beyond what you did and didn’t do, you won’t
understand till death stares you in the eye”….
