GET YOUR BUTT OUT OF BED~by John Patrick Boutilier

GET YOUR BUTT OUT OF BED

I woke up in the morning with one thing on my mind
I wondered if my woman might like to treat me kind
I felt sure she would agree as I knew she loved me true
I awoke her with a kiss as I very often do

I told her what I wanted, but she’d already guessed
She said it was too early and she needed get more rest
I agreed to let her sleep and kissed her tenderly once more
Though I was chomping at the bit like I’ve never chomped before

I’ve waited all October and all November too
It seems like an eternity, I’ve barely made it through
I can’t wait another second, please listen to my plea
Get your butt out of bed so we can get a Christmas tree

Get your butt out of bed
You know I love you, Baby
Get your butt out of bed
But it’s driving me crazy
Get your butt out of bed
I’m down on one knee
Get your butt out of bed
So we can get a Christmas tree

I watched as she lie sleeping so peaceful in our bed
While images of Christmas trees were racing through my head
Staring through the bedroom window at the snow upon the lawn
I decided then and there I’d awake her come the dawn

She knew this day was coming in the messages I’d send
Like watching Christmas movies long before October’s end
She calls it an obsession, tells me that I act a boy
It’s just the magic of the season filling heart and mind with joy

I’ve waited all October and all November too
It seems like an eternity, I’ve barely made it through
I can’t wait another second, please listen to my plea
Get your butt out of bed so we can get a Christmas tree

Get your butt out of bed
You know I love you, Baby
Get your butt out of bed
But it’s driving me crazy
Get your butt out of bed
I’m down on one knee
Get your butt out of bed
So we can get a Christmas tree

Our outside decorations are the first put up in town
If it were up to me alone, I’d never take them down
But the icing on the cake, what makes the holidays for me
Is going out and bringing home the perfect Christmas tree

The sun has finally risen, time to wake her up and go
There’s a tree that waits for me, prob’ly covered with fresh snow
There’ll be no time for breakfast, we’ll grab it on the way
I’ll wake her with a tender kiss and then politely say

I’ve waited all October and all November too
It seems like an eternity, I’ve barely made it through
I can’t wait another second, please listen to my plea
Get your butt out of bed so we can get a Christmas tree

Get your butt out of bed
You know I love you, Baby
Get your butt out of bed
But it’s driving me crazy
Get your butt out of bed
I’m down on one knee
Get your butt out of bed
So we can get a Christmas tree
